Executive Management
David Vautrin is a seasoned CPG executive with over 30 years of proven success across food, beverage, fitness, and cannabis. He has held multiple executive leadership roles, served on several boards, and led both start-ups and established enterprises.
Vautrin entered the cannabis industry in late 2016 with Canadian investment firm CannaRoyalty, where he launched U.S. operations in California. As President of CR Brands, he built enterprise-wide capabilities and a distribution network which served more than 500 retailers across the state. CannaRoyalty—later rebranded as Origin House—was acquired by Cresco Labs in 2020 in what was then the largest public company acquisition in the U.S. cannabis sector.
In 2022, he returned to his home state of New York as an investor and Operating Partner in The Travel Agency, a start-up cannabis retailer that has since grown into the #1 retail banner by revenue in New York City, operating four locations.
In 2024, Vautrin joined RIV Capital as Chief Retail Officer and was later appointed Interim CEO, where he led retail expansion and positioned the company for its December 2024 merger with Fluent Cannabis. Following the merger, he became Chief Commercial Officer of the combined enterprise, operating across four states.
In August 2025, he was appointed Interim CEO of FLUENT to lead a strategic turnaround. Known for his customer-centered approach, deep cross-functional MSO expertise, collaborative leadership style, and disciplined financial management, Vautrin is well-positioned to guide the company into its next chapter.
